TWG Tea is proud to bring the first harvest of Spring, the new limited-edition Sencha Nouveau 2023 from Japan. This exceptional Japanese green tea is the result of a special cultivation method called Kabuse Cha, which shades the tea plants from sunlight for at least 10 to 15 days, allowing the plant to general chlorophyll and absorb more minerals from the rich soil.
The freshly-picked tea leaves are processed within the same day of harvest and undergo Fukamushi-Cha, a deep steaming process which yields deep, vivid jade hued leaves with a hint of ooi-ka. A unique characteristic of Sencha Nouveau, the infusion yields a brilliant fluorescent green cup, a sweet, grassy, umami flavour, and a velvety aftertaste. A delicate tea for the afternoon.
Pour 80°C water over 2.5g of tea leaves per cup and infuse for 2 minutes. Remove leaves and serve.
