WORKING TOWARDS A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
Since its inception in 2008, TWG Tea’s philosophy has been deeply rooted in sustainable development with the mission to ensure that future generations will be able to enjoy the same quality teas we do today.
The company’s long-term vision is modelled after the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework that is increasingly considered a holistic benchmark for sustainable business practices.
TWG Tea believes that it can play its part in contributing towards a sustainable future by focusing on three pillars of sustainability – Craft, Community and Commitment.
Protecting the environment is at the core of TWG Tea. The company’s activity is closely related to sustainable development — from tea harvesting, production, processing and packaging, to the way TWG Tea operates within its Tea Salons & Boutiques.
TWG Tea collaborates with tea plantations that share its commitment to cultivating and crafting tea sustainably, uses natural ingredients throughout all products, and wherever possible, utilises sustainable materials for all of its beautifully designed tea packaging and delivery boxes, including the world’s first TWG Tea Takeaway cups and carriers that are 100% recyclable, biodegradable and home compostable.
Tea production is a labour of love. At TWG Tea, tea processing, blending and packaging is done by hand, relying on skilled craftsmanship at every level to deliver the TWG Tea experience.
In its efforts to care for the people and communities behind the creation of every tea, TWG Tea prioritises working with tea plantations and partners who care for the workforce, preserve traditional craftsmanship and sustainable business practices, invest in grooming talent and adopt inclusivity in the workplace.
To ensure that future generations get to enjoy the same quality tea we do today, TWG Tea commits to taking a long-term perspective — investing in both past, present and future — to build a legacy.
Social sustainability stems from building lasting businesses that promote employees’ wellbeing. This is done by understanding employees’ social, financial, emotional needs. TWG Tea provides social and cultural engagements, safety and security, as well as training and education at the TWG Tea Institute, a comprehensive tea training facility designed for our over 3,000 employees and global partners worldwide.
