In celebration of the Harvest Moon and a bountiful harvest, TWG Tea adds a dash of autumnal colours to the TWG Tea Yixing Teapot Collection. Drawing inspiration from the earthy hues of the season.

In celebration of the Harvest Moon and a bountiful harvest, TWG Tea adds a dash of autumnal colours to the TWG Tea Yixing Teapot Collection. Drawing inspiration from the earthy hues of the season, the Yixing Teapots are available in new colours of red, orange and violet, joining the current repertoire of Yixing Teapots in yellow, brown and blue.

Dating back to the 15^th century, Yixing Teapots are made of clay, a materially naturally found in the region of Yixing in eastern China, which lends its name to the teapot. Since then, Yixing Teapots have been used in China for their functionality, particularly adapted for black teas, oolong and matured teas. A teapot which is steeped in rich traditions, Yixing Teapot is highly favoured by tea connoisseurs as the clay absorbs the flavour of the tea during each infusion, developing a protective coating at the bottom of the teapot with each use.

To preserve this natural protection, you should care for your Yixing Teapot by rinsing it only with fresh water after use. Take care not to clean your teapot with any soap or detergent, which could damage this natural protective coating that is unique to Yixing Teapots. All TWG Tea Yixing Teapots come with a clay filter which allows tea leaves to unfurl fully during infusion, allowing for the full fragrance of the tea to develop.
