This marvellous harvest was lovingly cultivated by the Master of Gyokuro, an exceptional craftsman with 55 years of experience, who works alone to achieve some of the most sought-after teas of Japan, the last in a great line of tea planters. Harvests from this small estate in Okabe receive the grand prize in competitions every year. Covered with hand braided rice mats called 'Komo' for 25 days, this Hon-Gyokuro is harvested by hand just once a year resulting in sea-green leaves of incredible intensity in chlorophyll. Rich and dense with thick and heady notes known as 'ooi-ka', this tea is of extraordinary quality.
Pour 55°C water over 10g of tea leaves per cup and infuse for 2 and a half minutes. Remove leaves and serve.
