Sencha Nouveau, also known as Shincha Sencha, is seen as a symbol of the first flush of spring and represents the fine art of tea producing and a lifestyle of tea appreciation and refinement.
Cultivated with care, the tea plants are sheltered directly above their leaves, at least 10 to 15 days before harvest. This form of cultivation is known as Kabuse Cha, which means ‘to cover’ and the act of shading the tea plants from sunlight allows the plant to generate more chlorophyll and absorb more minerals from the rich soil, thereby producing deep, vivid jade hued leaves and a bright fluorescent green infusion rich in grassy notes, a unique characteristic of the Sencha Nouveau.
