FIRST FROM COLOMBIA
Situated in northwest South America with its southern tip running through the equator, Colombia has for many centuries been better known for coffee than tea. However since the 1950’s, one plantation continues to produce exquisite, handpicked, whole leaf teas in the region of Chocό alongside a protected rain forest in the Andes Mountains.
Originally planted with seeds imported from Sri Lanka, the plantation is situated at high elevations, where temperatures are cool and rainfall is plentiful, creating ideal conditions to cultivate fine tea. Today, the harvests continue to astonish and delight, making this plantation a national treasure and the premiere tea producer in Colombia.
Grown at an altitude of 2,000 metres above sea level in the misty air and volcanic soil of the Andes Mountain plateaus, this exceptionally melodic tea is composed of beautifully twisted, tippy leaves which infuse into a mellow, amber-coloured cup for the morning or afternoon. Warm caramel flavours develop into refreshing notes of warm citrus. Perfect alone or with a lightly buttered scone, this is an elegant tea to accompany you throughout the day.
