Usher in the new year by celebrating the Epiphany with TWG Tea’s rendition of the French King’s Cake also known as the Galette des Rois. TWG Tea adds a tea-infused twist to the time-honoured King’s Cake, flaky puff pastry luxuriously filled with layers of frangipane, a sweet almond cream that is infused with TWG Tea’s signature Vanilla Bourbon Tea – a South African red tea blended with sweet vanilla beans.
Keeping in line with the French custom, a coveted token is concealed in the King’s Cake, awaiting the “King” or “Queen” of the day. After the King’s Cake is sliced and served, diners will check to see if their slice contains the token – which is a whole almond. The diner who finds the lucky almond is then crowned the “King” or “Queen” of the day and bestowed with a gold crown.
Exclusively in Singapore, the crowned diner will be presented with a whole King’s Cake as the royal gift from TWG Tea. The TWG Tea King’s Cake retails at $55 (serves 6) and will be available online and at all TWG Tea Salons from 5 January to 31 January 2020.
