Black Tea
Sir Samuel White Baker is credited with Nuwara Eliya's commercial development in 1848 after he compared the climate to his native England and decided to make it his home. Once referred to as the'Path of a ThousandPrinces' or the 'Valley of Rubies' this land is still rich in gold and precious stones. Grown at 1,900 metres above sea level, this tea benefits from generous rainfall and consistently low temperatures during most of the year. The infusion is light but has an exquisite flavour and an aroma of softly ripening raspberries. An afternoon delight.
